Commuters wanted for research project

A 40-minute journey to work and back is pretty normal for many people – five times a week. Be it by bike or car, bus or train, commuting has an impact on everyday life. But how?

In order to understand this question, our co-operation partner FH Potsdam is currently measuring the biometric data of commuters in the Berlin area.

Participants in this study ideally commute several times a week for at least 40 minutes. As part of the study, scientists from FH Potsdam accompany participants for one day during the journey, they record the exact geo-position and heart rate with a fitness tracker and conduct an interview.

The study is part of the broader VIDAN research project at FH Potsdam, which develops novel interaction and visualisation techniques for presenting and exploring complex data based on the stories of people in a city.
The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and is being carried out in cooperation with civity.
