How is the water management sector preparing to meet the challenges of climate change?
Climate change is already affecting a large number of industries and companies. Next Wednesday, 13 November, Bundesverband der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft e. V. (BDEW) (German Association of Energy and Water Industries) will address the extent to which the water management sector is and will be affected by climate change. In her presentation, Managing Director Friederike Lauruschkus looks at the effects on infrastructure.
The full-day workshop in Berlin, which will be attended by representatives from business, science and politics, will analyse the challenges posed by climate change and discuss possible solutions.
Following updates on current scientific findings and the political framework conditions of the EU, federal government and the federal state, various aspects of preparing the water management sector for climate change will be highlighted. Under the title ‘Climate Change – New Challenges for Infrastructure’, Friederike Lauruschkus will summarise the challenges specifically facing water management infrastructure and provide recommendations for further action.
